So much can get in the way of the doing, including the behavior change curve.  Health coaching is emerging as a critical field that provides the skills and support that enable change, and helps connect the siloed guidance we receive from health practitioners. At their core, health coaches are advocates for individuals on their wellness journeys.

  • What are your credentials?
    I attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), based in New York City and graduated as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. IIN's Health Coach Training Program is world renowned and provides training in bio-individuality, multidimensional health, and evidence-based coaching modalities from many of the world’s leading experts. I also completed IIN's 6-month continuing education Gut Health course for health coaches furthering my expertise in digestive health.
  • What is an Integrative Health Coach?
    Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches bridge the gap between wellness professionals and patients by helping clients develop strategies for lasting lifestyle changes that improve overall wellness and daily quality of life. They focus on the relationship between food and lifestyle and how they each affect health. And they support clients with primary food (or the things that nourish us "off the plate") like career, relationships, sleep, creativity, and joy - all essential for optimizing multidimensional health.
  • What can you help me with?
    I can partner with you to identify, create, and implement a sustainable plan for achieving your individual health and wellness goals which can include all aspects of wellbeing (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) as well as the recommendations of your other wellness providers. I do this by exploring your overall wellbeing and developing recommendations with you to help enact basic, health-supportive lifestyle modifications that mobilize your internal strengths and external resources. Recommendations can include nutrition as well as non-food forms of nourishment, like relationships, career, home environment, creativity, and joy - all of which affect markers of health, such as stress, weight, and energy levels. I will then provide you with the ongoing support and feedback needed to make lasting change happen across any aspects of your wellness you're focused on.
  • How do you work with doctors, if at all?
    One of the key value adds of a health coach is to bridge the gap between clients and their wellness providers. As a health coach I can offer my clients strategies and support for implementing doctor recommendations including lifestyle changes. Additionally, I can: Collaborate directly with healthcare providers and serve as a bridge between my clients and their providers Sort and explain information from multiple healthcare professionals Empower my clients to self-advocate by understanding what to ask providers and seek specialists for specific health needs Look at the bigger picture of wellness for my clients Identify client patterns and make connections that support their overall wellness Refer clients to professionals with specific areas of expertise
